Accountability 

This is a big one for me.

As I have previously alluded I am standing to represent the people of Rother Valley because I feel for too long we have as a region been second place to party politics. It has been a source of genuine frustration that in the past when Ive tried to raise matters with our MP they have often been ignored. MPs (not just in our region) often seem somewhat distant - until they become all accessible again when election time rolls round and they need a vote for re-election.

In order to improve that accountability if I’m elected, I will commit to holding quarterly constituency meetings, where people can attend and receive a summary of what Ive been up to in the previous quarter, an explanation of how I voted, and why, and how I feel that best benefits the region. Additionally, the meetings will include a forecast of whats likely to be ahead, and allow local people to give their own thoughts on how that will affect them.

PLEDGE - If elected I will hold quarterly meetings (in addition to the usual surgeries) with constituents to give real accountability for my actions and how that benefits our region
