The Ward mapped

Ive been asked a lot recently (and even more so since the postal votes went out) what area the Ward I’m standing in covers.

I’m standing in Aughton and Swallownest Ward, which also covers Ulley and Orgreave and is outlined in the attached interactive map. If you click on it the map will open and allow you to zoom in and see if you are covered by the Ward, or if you fall into a neighbouring Ward (the most obvious being Aston and Todwick).

It makes little sense to me that so much of Swallownest is classed as Aston for political purposes. But it is what it is.

8 candidates are standing in the Ward, 2 Labour, 1 Conservative, and 1 each for Green, Liberal, Trade Union & Socialist, Reform and me, the only independent candidate not standing for a political party.

I aim to put the area and its people first. Notthe aims and ambitions of a political party that will dictate policy and what I vote for.
